How my wedding inspired me to become a beauty blogger

It’s December and I am eating dinner with my brand new fiancé and mother when I tell them, “I think I’m going to do my own makeup for the wedding.” My fiancé cringed and my mother gave me “the look.” It was that moment I realized I had no idea what I was doing….and I had a mission.

At my mother’s pleading I tried five different makeup artists. Every single trial ended in utter disaster ranging from eyebrows a la Groucho Marx to a muddy mess of contour and eyeshadow. After spending hundreds of dollars on mediocre makeup artists I took to YouTube to seek advice from beauty gurus. I watched tutorials for hours everyday and practiced my makeup looks countless times. Some nights I would put my face on and wash it back off three times just to perfect it. (Plus makeup is fun) After several hundred trips to Sephora, MAC and Ulta and very patient employees eager to help, I had perfected my makeup kit and bridal look.

Two months after my wedding my passion makeup hasn’t dwindled a bit and I was itching to find another project to enable me to keep dabbling in the art, so here I am. I started this blog for people like me, the everyday person. I’m going to share what I’ve learned along with tips and tricks I’ve developed myself.  I’m an open book so follow me on social media, ask me questions and bear with me while I’m getting myself started on my journey through blogging. If you have tips or tricks to share, or you’d like a full breakdown and recreation of my wedding look comment down below!
